Preventive maintenance is an important part of keeping the Microplate Labeler running smoothly and error free. This topic describes the periodic routine maintenance you should perform.

Routine inspection and maintenance

Your maintenance schedule can vary depending on the frequency of Microplate Labeler use. In general, you should perform routine maintenance tasks when you replace the printer ribbon and labels.

Check the air-pressure level at the Microplate Labeler. Symptom. Insufficient air pressure or problems picking and placing the labels.	Daily	Checking the basic applicator functions
Clean the Microplate Labeler. Symptom. Dust, grime, or chemical deposits on exterior.	When replacing printer media	Cleaning the device exterior
Clean the print roller. Symptom. Impairment of label advancement or degradation of print quality.	When replacing printer media	Cleaning the printer components
Clean the printhead. Symptom. Degradation of print quality, contrast, or vertical stripes.	When replacing printer media	Cleaning the printer components
