Routine inspection and maintenance
Your maintenance schedule can vary depending on the frequency of Microplate Labeler use. In general, you should perform routine maintenance tasks when you replace the printer ribbon and labels.

Check the air-pressure level at the Microplate Labeler.
Symptom. Insufficient air pressure or problems picking and placing the labels.
Daily
Clean the Microplate Labeler.
Symptom. Dust, grime, or chemical deposits on exterior.
When replacing printer media
Clean the print roller.
Symptom. Impairment of label advancement or degradation of print quality.
When replacing printer media
Clean the printhead.
Symptom. Degradation of print quality, contrast, or vertical stripes.
When replacing printer media
Clean the applicator head.
Symptom. Dust and grime on applicator head.
When replacing printer media
Clean and inspect the vacuum pads.
Symptom. Problems picking up labels from the printer or placing labels on labware.
Every three months
Replace the vacuum pads.
Symptom. Cracked or worn pads.
Annually
Replace the labels and thermal transfer ribbon.
Symptom. End of media rolls.
